I was tired of being "Secretly Incredible". Tired of Consuming Knowledge.
There was a Creator emerging
I had to surrender to the idea of the inevitable: having to create my own personal website, and yet I just didn't want to be 'another coach.' (even though I have 20yrs experience). I didn't want to follow the same path or be swimming in the sea of the same. That’s where the feeling of being 'Secretly Incredible' started to get annoying. Afterall, this beingness was a staple of my career in coaching other coaches. So I asked myself why this concept began to bother me. Well, I also believe in moderation: maintaining balanced in behavior - a sweet spot that I've grown to know as effective... yet I find myself facing the truth: I had practiced avoiding the extreme. The opposite of 'secret' was leading from the front to make a difference in a bigger way. My 'secretly incredible' became limiting to my next level.
There was a unnecessary need to gain more skills or an assumption that behind the scenes is my place; and it ultimately it was a cover up for opportunities that I was fearful of. Opportunities that I was more than prepared to grow into.
The mission then became simple: To move Beyond Awareness and Consuming Knowledge... to New Knowledge by Actions in Unexplored Experiences. Focusing on the actions it takes to build something in the unknown that came with its own set of learning to truly level up. The moments of being a beginner in Creator Mode was evolution versus revolution.
My beginning actions were not grand gestures; they were the first steps I had been been delaying. It's the moment I finally gave a free trial for blog software a test drive after having researched several for so long, the moment I wrote my 'About' page after having several thoughts of what would it contain, or calling someone to be curious how they started. Any small action step that got me into taking a step into the unknown was new learning. Actions that I had no purpose or clue where it would lead to. I simply felt it had to be connected in some way. It was like what I would imagine what some artist experience in the evolution of their artwork: often finding that the piece/end result "reveals itself" during the process.
I took action where there was unpredictable feedback and the lessons were not immediate...something was building from the experience, not textbook theory.

I unpack in my writings, my journey to today, born from years of hiding, learning & consuming knowledge, and finally choosing to create my own. I share my memorable experiences in a timeline of my growth where I was a high-potential individual who had a level of greatness only expressed in a "Secretly Incredible" way to support other's success. While I had results, success and an authority, I counted myself out to translate all of that to the next level... Something I can call my own.
My journey contains moments where I had to cut through the noise of passive learning (procrastination disguised as preparation). These stories can relate to those ready to move Beyond Awareness and consuming knowledge.

Confidence is not a trait you find; it is built through action. My hopes are that you not simply consume my blog; that you engage and apply any action I put forth as an action step for you to take. This is an innovative type of blog where I hope you walk through my stories and complete the challenges/assignments to move from hesitation to building your foundation of confidence, new competence and a leveled up perception of yourself. The actions I will challenge readers on are not grand gestures; however they can be your first steps to move from delaying to creating! What you will notice is that I began my own transformation the moment I chose to listen to myself AND take action on on what I was quietly saying to myself all these years. This led to building my own, relying on the education of my own decisions and life experiences, without the noise of more knowledge consumption.
